“TD government is working for the welfare of the people and trying to develop AP despitea huge financial crises,” Mr Ramakris hnudu said, addressing the TD’s Jana Chaitanya Yatra in Guntur. The finance minister also addressed an awareness meeting on GST.org. anised by the APNGOs Association.
The minister said that AP was facing a huge financial crisis due to deficit Budget of Rs 24,000 crore this year but the government was committed to implementing all welfare schemes. “Despite the financial crunch, the government had announced a 40 per cent salary hike for its employees,” he said, asserting on the need to work for the meeting the targeted revenues by the transport, registration, revenue, commercial taxes and other departments.

The finance minister said that GST will prove to be extremely beneficial for the people, as seen in countries like Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. He said GST will come into force from April 1, 2017.
Special chief secretary to finance department, Ajay Kalam hailed GST as the best reform in the Country’s tax policy.
APNGOs state president P. Ashok Babu said that the Association was conducting a two-day awareness meeting for officials of the commercial tax department.
ASI asked to release funds
GUNTUR: The Amaravati Development Authority has raised the issue of paucity of funds with the Archaeological Survey of India, Amaravati circle.
The ADA has asserted on the need of the ASI to work for the develop. ment of historical Amaravati in view of new capital city coming up on the same name. It demanded the immediate sanctioning of crucial funds. ADA chairman J. Veeranjaneyulu said the ASI had created a new circle office at Amaravati for residuary AP but had not sanctioned any funds. He said that the ASI Amaravati circle was formed June this year,but it was only on paper and there was no activity in the office at all.
Mr Veeranjaneyulu said that R4.25 crore was sanctioned to ASI Hyderabad circle office but no funds were Sanctioned to ASI Amaravati circle.
He added that a memorandum seeking funds and functioning of ASI Amaravati circle was Submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Union government’s cultural department joint secretary Padmalochan Sahu.
