Code of Ethics

My objective is to win this campaign because I believe I am the best candidate for the 8th District of Virginia and the American people. However, regardless of the outcome of this election, I want the Murray for Congress campaign to be one with which all involved were proud to be associated. Therefore I pledge that Murray for Congress will conduct an aggressive, forthright and ethical campaign based upon the following components:

Responsibility

  • I am ultimately responsible for my campaign.
  • I will not compromise my principles for any perceived gain.
  • I will not allow consultants, donors, interest groups or others to dictate my principles.

Integrity

  • I will articulate my views and positions openly and truthfully.
  • We will not knowingly distort the views or record of my opponent.
  • We will provide supporting documentation when issuing statements of fact.

Compassion

  • I will strive to be a good listener and earn the support of the citizens of my District.
  • I will remember that it is my job to represent my entire constituency, not just selected segments.
  • I will treat my opponent according to the Golden Rule.
